Welcome to 10,000 Women: Assessing Your Business Growth Potential.
Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women is a global initiative that fosters economic growth by providing women business owners around the world with business and management education, mentoring and networking, and access to capital.
The initiative was launched in 2008, based on a growing body of research to support the economic opportunity of investing in women. To date, over 10,000 women have completed the program from across 56 countries, and have seen immediate and sustained business growth.
For the first time, this initiative is available online, designed to support women business owners everywhere.
We recognize that growing a business requires hard work, determination and planning. This course is designed to provide you with the practical tools and ideas to help you manage these demands, ultimately leading you to grow your business.
The 10,000 Women introductory course will develop your understanding of the three key ingredients of growth potential: you, your business and your opportunity.
Through focused and tailored exercises, you will assess the strengths and weaknesses of your business and yourself as a business leader. You will also identify and refine your key opportunities for business growth.
As you are working in an online environment, you will be connecting with like-minded business owners from around the world. The course will provide you with a unique forum to share your experiences, and provide support and advice to others.
What can you do after this introductory course?
Once you finish this introductory course, you will have the opportunity to continue your learning journey with 10,000 Women through a further 10 modules, leading to the development of your Business Growth Plan.
Upon successfully completing these modules, you will be able to join the 10,000 Women alumni and connect with a global network of past participants.

Are you ready for business growth?
This week you will explore two key factors that will help you to maximize your business growth potential. You will assess and analyze how your business has grown to date, and consider why further growth is important to ensure sustainability, increased financial value, and long-term success. You will discover how your own skills and confidence can impact on your business’s growth potential through a number of innovative and interactive exercises unique to 10,000 Women.

What are your opportunities for growth?
This week you will explore the final key element that will help you to maximize your business’s growth potential – the opportunity. You will identify this growth opportunity by working through a sequence of interactive exercises that take you from idea generation through to a single refined and feasible business growth opportunity. Along the way you will rediscover what is driving you to grow your business – having this awareness will help shape your growth opportunities and influence how ambitious you want to be. You complete the week by writing an Opportunity Statement, which is a clear and detailed explanation of your most promising business opportunity. The ability to do this well is a key skill of a successful entrepreneurial leader.
